Farningham Parish Council met on Wednesday, 6th March 2019, and present were four parish councillors, the Clerk, Jane Gray, Sevenoaks District Councillor Philip McGarvey and one member of the public.
Cllr McGarvey reported that 180-200 extra police officers are being recruited throughout the county and police responses to the 101 telephone support line have improved considerably.
In response to villagers’ requests for improvements to Junction 3 M25 Swanley Interchange, Highways England has advised that work is planned to widen sections of the roundabout with enhanced road markings and signage. Eynsford and Farningham Dementia Café:
A further donation of £200 was approved for this worthy venture. Meetings are every second Friday f the month at Eynsford Village Hall and further information is available elsewhere in Trident.
Public seating areas:
A seat has now been placed at the newly landscaped borehole works alongside the river near the M20 bridge and we hope a similar public utility will be built in Farningham Woods.
These are on May 2nd and should you wish to stand for election to the Farningham Parish Council, further details can be obtained from the clerk, Jane Gray, or the election officer at Sevenoaks District Council. Elections for Sevenoaks District Council will also be on the same day, Thursday 2nd May.
Friends of Farningham:
Seven volunteers carried out a litter pick in Button Street at the beginning of March and our bimonthly meetings started on March 28th. We meet every second Saturday and final Thursday of the month, 10am at Farningham Village Hall. New recruits are always welcome and a full list of our meeting dates are on the Village Hall noticeboard. We hope to see you there!
Our next Farningham Parish Council meeting will start earlier at 7pm on Wednesday, 3rd April 2019, in the Jessica Albery Room in Farningham Village Hall, followed immediately by Farningham’s Annual Parish Meeting in the Main Hall at 8pm. Public participation will take place at approximately 9.15pm. Please note the May meeting of the Parish Council will delayed a week and will be held on
Wednesday 8th May at 7.45pm.
